Week 1 & 2

Week 3 & 4
AFTER SURGERY
- All meals should be mashed or puree
- Fish, poultry and calf meat can be minced very easily in the blender with a few drops of liquid.
- Do not use gas-causing vegetables
- Avoid freshly baked goods (better be toasted)
- Chew well the bread
- Eat high-protein foods at each meal
- Avoid fruits and juices containing large amounts of fruit acids
- Your stomach won’t be able to tolerate greasy high-fat foods at the current time, and it also should be avoided in the future.
- Give yourself at least 30 minutes to finish each meal
- Eat slowly and chew well
- Consider that your stomach may be full after a few tablespoons of food
- Take all the time you need to eat, and don’t do anything else while eating
- Eat small food portions / small meals
- Eat only small quantities / meals
- Put only 200ml / 200g of food on your plate and eat it slowly
- Eat your meal at intervals, so you can notice when your are full
- Keep drinking the same way you did during the past two weeks
- Ensure that you drink half of the daily recommended fluid intake by the middle of the day Record any intolerances in your special diary and talk to your nutritionist about them.
- Daily food plans are carefully crafted without allocating specific quantities, as meal amounts depend on the size of the remaining stomach, and the time the food remains in the stomach

FOODS AND DRINKS FOR WEEK 5 TO 6 POST-SURGERY
- Eat soft foods (foods that are easy to chew and swallow)
- Start eating small portions and chew well
- Keep the no drinking while eating rule
- Foods full of fats can still be disturbing for your stomach
- Use a small amount of vegetable oil in meals preparation
- Each meal should contain one protein and one starchy food
